30 Day Cleanse

On Friday the 6th, The Man and I started our 30 Day Isagenix Cleanse. Basically you replace 2 meals a day with (awful) shakes and take supplements for 30 days. A couple of people I know have used this to great success, losing 15-25 pounds in the 30 days, and more importantly, managing to keep it off. So The Man and I thought it might be a good way to kick start our health for the summer. So I'll get you up to speed. I'm on day 4 today so I'll break down the first 3.
Day 1:
Extreme hunger. It was a slow day on the ambulance and I tried to keep busy but nothing could keep my mind off of the fact that my stomach was playing a pretty good tune. By the end of the day I was ready to call it quits but a friend of mine told me to stick it out for 3 days and it should get a little easier. I was on call that night so I went home had a lovely shake with The Man and went to bed early. Around 0200 the pager sounded for a Code 3 diabetic. On the drive to the shack I noticed an inkling of a headache but thought nothing of it. By the time we got to the call I had a full blown migraine (and with an unconscious diabetic and a partner just as useless things were not looking good). When we got to the hospital I just handed my sheet to triage ran outside and tried not to pass out. I decided that next time I get a late night call out I'll be grabbing a granola bar and a piece of fruit.
Day 2:
Things were a little bit better. I had a dinner date with some girlfriends so I ordered a thin crust pizza with no cheese, half the sauce and put half of it in a to go container before I even started. It was wonderful, but I still wasn't convinced I could keep going.
Day 3:
I cheated and weighed myself. We aren't supposed to step on the scale until day 5 but I had to see if this starvation was worth it. AND IT WAS. I had lost 2 pounds since the beginning. And The Man had lost 3! We decided to go ahead and order the second package to finish our month. He has been such good motivation for me-even if it is just because I constantly have to remind him "No, you can't eat that, put it down." or "blue pill at 10, yellow pill at 11 and then healthy meal at noon".
Day 4:
Today will be a challenge. I work 0700-1500 at the office and then a night shift on the ambulance so not only is it a long day, its going to be a lot of sitting around and thinking about my hunger. I will be adding an extra meal tonight. So shake in the morning, healthy lunch, shake when I get home and then another healthy meal around 8 or 9 tonight to help get me through the night.
So here we go-lets see if I can make it through the day!
